Condrieu 'Les Mandouls' Domaine Ferraton 2009

In 1998, Samuel Ferraton, the 4th generation of the family at the estate, gave a new impetus to the House by forming a partnership with Chapoutier. This new synergy brought with it new knowledge and expertise, particularly biodynamic vine growing practices for the single vineyards and the introduction of quality controls.
After Chateau Grillet, a Condrieu is probably the best example of Viognier. Intense perfume and complex aromatic flavours dominate the nose. The palate develops into ripe apricot, peach and honey characters. The intense richness gives a light sensation of sweetness but the wine is dry and finishes with mineral and savoury notes.
