Vacqueyras 'Le Clos' Domaine Montirius 2006

Domaine Montirius was founded by Eric and Christine Saurel, who from day one believed that the best way to grow vines was to do it in the most natural way possible, without using chemicals. Eric trained as a winemaker in Bordeaux in 1986 and started the full conversion to biodynamic grape growing in 1996. In 1999, Domaine Montirius was fully accredited as a biodynamic producer.

Since then, thanks to their dedication to the vineyards, Christine and Eric have established themselves as key players in the Gigondas and Vacqueyras appellations.

A blend of Grenache and Syrah (50% each) and has spent no time in oak. Bursting with ripe raspberry jam flavours, the palate develops into vanilla and liquorice flavours, the tannins are structured but ripe and round, and the long mineral finish is a beautiful expression of its terroir.
