Riesling Grand Cru Saëring, Schlumberger, 2007

Under the control of Eric Beydon-Schlumberger and his niece Severine Schlumberger, Domaines Schlumberger produce consistent quality wines that are very expressive of their grape variety. The vineyard is also in the process of conversion to meet organic and biodynamic production standards. The steep terraces of the estate need every bit of the calm characters of their four powerful 'Franc-Comté' horses to plough the soil.
The nose is racy and honest, with a pleasant citrus, gently floral and spicy character. Fleshy on the palate, the complex, almost exotic nature of its fruit becomes apparent, together with the underlying citrus, floral and mineral notes that underpin it. Persistent and lively.
