With roots in Valpolicella Classica, just outside Verona, Masi is recognised across the globe as one of the key producers of premium Italian wines, most notably building their reputation around Amarone. The Masi story began in 1772, when the Boscaini family acquired prestigious vineyards in the small valley called “Vaio dei Masi”, which is the origin of the company’s name. Over the years, the Boscaini family have acquired other vineyard sites in premium areas, while also remaining at the forefront of cutting edge development in the region. The winery is now controlled by the 6th and 7th generations of the family, who are probably best known for being among the best proponents of the appassimento technique.
