Truly historic site – ancient vines – blend of tradition and modernity
Chateau de Sours originally dates back to the 14th century, when it served as an inn on the ‘St. Jacques de Compostelle’ pilgrimage route to Northern Spain.
The Comtes du Richemont, who survived the French Revolution, subsequently renovated the property, planted its first vines and built the current house in 1792.
Since 2004 Chateau de Sours has been under the watchful stewardship of Martin and Nicolette Krajewski who have, during that time, carefully restored the property to its former glory.
Today they cultivate the vines, which are situated above the historic village of St. Emilion, employing a blend of the traditional craftsmanship of the region combined with a modern, creative approach.
Juicy red fruits, zip of tannin for backbone, little hints of cigar box and smoky Saint Emilion style fruit.
