Historic estate – family owned since 1810                               .

Thomas La Grix de la Salle is the fourth generation of his family to oversee proceedings at Château Le Grand Verdus.

Situated in the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation, around 20 kilometres east of Bordeaux, Thomas tends to the vineyards that have been owned by his ancestors since 1810

Since taking over the helm from his father, Thomas has successfully combined generations of winemaking know-how with his knowledge of more modern techniques, to bring Château Le Grand Verdus into the 21st century. In that time, there is no question that their wines have taken on a new dimension, benefitting from Thomas’ youthful approach.

The Grande Reserve is made of 90% Merlot and has matured for 14 months in oak barrels (40% new) and is a powerful but luscious wine, with concentrated plum jam characters, hints of spice, toast and herbs on the finish.
