Domaine de la Senche

Hailing from Scotland, Guy & Liz Crawford have fulfilled a lifelong ambition by moving to France and revitalising the estate of Domaine de la Senche in Minervois. Over the course of a 5 year period from 2004, they spent a much time in France as possible, looking to find a potential base for this dream project. In 2009, they came upon Domaine de la Senche in the rural community of La Livinière, one of the oldest crus in the Languedoc region.

The small plot of vines sits alongside an olive grove and all vineyard work is carried out by hand. Liz believes it is this personal involvement that has helped them integrate so well in to the community, as during harvest time they call on local villagers to help with the picking alongside their family and friends. Specialising in the production of Syrah and Grenache, Liz & Guy pride themselves on the diversity that each individual parcel of wines brings to the equation. The fact that they have vines across a wide number of soil types and aspects ensures that balance can always be found when it comes to the assemblage stage of each wine.
