Biodynamic – world famous winemaker – satellite of Dominio de Pingus – 17 hectares
Quinta Sardonia is the brainchild of Peter Sisseck, owner of the world famous Dominio de Pingus and one of the finest winemakers operating on the Spanish scene.
Situated about 8 kilometres west of the Pingus winery, Quinta Sardonia is located just outside the western border of Ribera del Duero, at around 850m altitude above the town of Sardon del Duero.
Biodynamic and organically grown, it is a high-altitude ridge-and-valley site which Peter has planted and nurtured from scratch.
The vineyard incorporates all that Peter has learned in both his old vine project Dominio de Pingus and also from his experiences managing Hacienda de Monasterio, an impressive combination of skills that enable him to produce wines of astounding quality.
Deep ruby. Redcurrant, tobacco and dried rose aromas; really showing the cabernet right now. Spicy and precise, with sweet red berry and cherry flavours and a deeper note of blackberry. Very floral on the finish, which shows very good clarity and intensity.
