Biodynamic – spearheading new generation of Austrian winemakers – a classic in the making
It is our pleasure to introduce to you all one of the most exciting young producers we have had the pleasure of meeting in recent years.
From his uber-modern base in the region of Gols, Claus Preisinger crafts biodynamic and natural wines using indigenous Austrian grape varieties such as Zweigelt, Blaufrankisch and Sankt Lauren.
His Zweigelt in particular is a fantastic expression of this lesser-known varietal. Using a technique that involves semi-carbonic maceration, he produces a light Beaujolais-style wine with wonderful fresh berry notes.
Claus is at the vanguard of the new look Austrian wine community, heading up the current generation of exciting young winemakers, and we are delighted to be able to share his wines with you.
Dark berry nose and a pleasant earthy note. Strong, well-bodied, round tannins and integrated acidity dominate the palate. A Classic!
