Distant Noises

We are extremely excited by the arrival of the wines which form part of the Distant Noises range, brought to life by winemaker Tom Carson. We know Tom very well through his work at Yabby Lake, where he was won a whole host of accolades for his wines. For this project, Tom set himself a very specific set of goals centring on the key objective of producing top quality Mornington Wines at prices rarely seen in this region.

In his eyes, he has achieved many of his goals at the premium end of Mornington, therefore the opportunity to create a more accessible range of wines that show off this fascinating part of Australia was not to be missed. And we certainly think that they hit the spot – precise, clean and sustainable winemaking highlighting the cool climate potential that Mornington has to offer.

Chardonnay 2019

The fruit was hand harvested and pressed in small batches before it was left to settle overnight. French oak barrels (500 litre puncheons) were used for fermentation before the wine was aged on yeast lees for 10 months.

Expect aromas of citrus notes, stone fruit and subtle hints of spicy French oak. The palate has a rounded texture, focused acidity and excellent balance, leading to a long and persistent finish.

A really fantastic quality wine at a great price. A clean, luscious Chardonnay that members love to drink.

Mornington Magic in a glass!

Mornington peninsula brings thoughts of fresh airs, the tang of spring scents, and promise of a deeply fragrant early summer to follow. Same with this delicious mouthful - rich but light, full of flavour but still delicate - perfect contrasts in a beautifully fragrant glass of Mornington Magic.

Stunning Chardy!

Top class, sustainable, Mornington wines are hard to come by in the Northern reaches of Scotland, and are unheard of at this price! Generous body with lees texture and depth from oak, but this is no in-ya-face buttery Chardonnay from days gone by. It has great acid and is refined and elegant. Just delicious! Super addition to the list, I’ll be buying more before it all sells out!
