Chateau Filhot Sauternes (half bottle), Sauternes, France 2010
Regular price £22.95
Family owned estate – world famous sweet wines
Romain de Filhot founded the Château which took his name in 1709 and to this day, the estate produces some of the world’s finest botrytised sweet wines. Now owned by one of his descendants, Henri de Vaucelles, Château Filhot is bordered by the Landes forest and the river Ciron, the perfect combination for the creation of a microclimate which encourages the development of Noble Rot.
The Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc blend displays the typical Sauternes features – a classic sweet wine produced by a very skilful winemaking team.
The Château Filhot is a classic Sauternes with a specific fresh Sauvignon Blanc flavours character. Quite juicy, with toasty peach and tarte tatin notes laced with honeysuckle and marmalade flavours.
