4.5 hectares – sought-after appellation – excellent value for money
Chateau La Graviere is a satellite appellation located in the well-known appellation of Lalande de Pomerol.
This tiny estate comprises only 4.5 hectares of gravel/sand soil and benefits from the same micro-climate that affects the grand-cru vineyards of the Pomerol plateau.
The winemaking team cultivate both Cabernet Franc and Merlot from vines that are between 20-50 years old, before hand-picking the grapes to ensure optimum quality.
The result is a medium bodied, extremely approachable wine that is an ideal match to a wide variety of food.
This vineyard is owned by the Peré- Vergé estate, the wine is largely dominated by Merlot with a little bit of Cabernet Franc and has been aged for 14 months in one year old oak barriques. Chateau la Graviere displays notes of smoked game, herbs, black truffles, roasted meats, cassis and black cherries. A vin de plaisir for sure!
