Clos de Caveau
Clos de Caveau is owned and managed by the Bungener family, with Henri Bungener currently at the helm after taking over from his father, Gérard. The estate has been in the family since 1976, though it was previously owned by Stephen Spurrier, who once remarked that "“"my one regret in life was selling Clos de Caveau". The domaine has practiced organic farming since 1989 and has been certified for nearly that entire time, making them true pioneers within the Vacqueyras appellation. Their vineyards occupy a privileged position at the top of the hillside, just beneath the woodland that crowns the Dentelles de Montmirail. This unique setting brings remarkable freshness to a region traditionally associated with fuller-bodied wines. Both the white and red bottlings show a distinctive salinity and herbal character, giving them exceptional versatility.
