The story of the Hodgkinsons is one which originates in the United Kingdom. Peter Hodgkinson’s love for the Spanish countryside propelled him to purchase the small Mas del Habanero estate in the Priorat in 1972. Although vines were planted on the estate, the family had never commercialised any products to the public.

That all changed in 2015 when Peter’s three sons, Luca, Caspar and David, saw the potential of the land their father had purchased and decided to found Hodgkinson wines. The goal was that of creating a boutique winery dedicated to crafting some of the most singular and unique wines in the Priorat.

Nowadays, the brothers organically farm six hectares of vines rooted into slate, schist, and clay soils. At Hodgkinson, all fruit is hand-harvested, spontaneously fermented, and vinified in a combination of steel vats, clay amphorae, and large French oak barrels.
