Covering 6 hectares of St. Emilion Grand Cru vineyards, Clos Cantenac benefits from an enviable terroir of deep gravel, sand and clay over limestone soils.
Martin Krajewski (owner of Chateau de Sours), who purchased the vineyard in 2007, has found the perfect balance between experimenting with this intriguing variation in soil structures, while simultaneously respecting the history of the land.
When he initially took over the estate, Martin invested most of his time in tinkering with the layout of the vineyard, trialling subtle alterations to his cultivation techniques in each plot, before turning his attention to the renovation of the ancient winery.
Now, he and his team are at a stage where they are able to produce wines which do full justice to this prized terroir, highlighting why St. Emilion is one of the most desirable winemaking locations in the world.
Made from ripe Merlot and Cabernet – Powerful mix of jammy ripe damsons and black cherry fruit flavours with a hint of toasty and tobacco notes.
